Horsehair comes in many different natural colors ranging from white through a large variety of browns and reds to black. But when you want a different color you'll need to dye your horsehair. I'm going to explain three methods of dyeing horsehair. RIT Dyes Natural Dyes Hair Salon Dyes         The hat band above was inspired by Acoma pottery. The pottery has a very distinct color palette of black and terra cotta orange on a natural white background. The black and white are natural colors but the terra cotta orange was created by using RIT dyes. Detail of hat band shown above
